As a business consultant I can tell you that the advice to focus and to not try to do everything yourself, is very good advice. It\’s two of the main problems that business owners face. Good advice.

Mark, this post embodies everything that you stand for. We are so fortunate to be able to make a good living by working from home on our computers. It is truly magical if you think about it, and I shudder to think I would not have known you if I hadn’t taken this leap and created my business two years ago. We must give it everything we have, as many of us have done for employers in years past.

Good post! You’re right about focus—sometimes I spread myself too thin!
I’m realizing that I need to write less articles and buy more from an article writing service. Right now I’m doing lots and lots of content writing for my websites myself plus article writing, it takes so much time.

I’d like to slowly build one way links to my sites and outsource some of my article spinning and find a reliable person to do this. This will help out alot. Since I’m very busy with my other job, my time is limited with my internet business.

Mark,
I haven’t really thought about what I want to complete in 2009. But what I am certain of is that I want to spend a lot of time this year(as I did in 2008 too) on my kids and grooming them and to be more focused in whatever I decide to do.

Focusing is fabulous..harnessing my energy…thanks to you, this is my new motto for 2009 to get what I wish, need and want to get done. Numbers 1 and 11 are now highlighted and indelibly etched in my daily life. It never occured to me they were holding me back

Hi Mark,
Awesome list! I have recently stopped thinking about all the things I want to do and have started doing them. When I get stuck- or lost- there are plenty of great folks available to answer questions and lend a hand.

One of my absolute favorite resources when I need something is Twitter! It is always amazing how many people are out there who are willing to help- including you!

Don’t let not knowing how to do something hold you back. Don’t let lack of finances hold you back either! If you need something and don’t have the $$, find someone to barter with. Do for them in exchange for what they can help you out with- it’s a great way to make friends, achieve goals and network for greater ventures in the future!
