Social Media and Your Company

by admin on February 10, 2010

Are you using social media in and for your business? In short, you should be. Long ago you shed the notion that social media is all about friends sharing their trivialities, didn’t you?

People are now talking about you and your company. Ignore this at your peril and then begin watching your rivals take your position in the marketplace. You are being talked about whether you accept it or not and avoiding being part of the conversation means you do not, at that time, prove your worth as a provider of a product or service.

No longer do you attract people solely through your advertising methods. Your fans and detractors do the advertising for you. If you are good, people will share that experience via customer-to-potential-customer social media. If you are bad then they do the same but you miss out on knowing why they are dissatisfied and being able to make amends. A quick reality check will find a population of potential prospects online gathering and sharing information about you. Are you aware?

Are you there?
